Is the quarterback’s knee down or does possession happen after knee off the ground? Did the receiver make the line to gain on the catch or should this be marked short?
Looks like the knee came up of the ground just prior to possession being gained so play continues and the catch was made for the line to gain. 1st down team A.
As Bill always says, “Let’s not claim to have the best eyes in the game.” I’m judging the knee to be off the ground when control of the ball is gained. The receiver made the reception beyond the line to gain. Should be a first down.
I dont disagree with the comments above but I would chat with the player. Not right after that play as the defensive coach looked like he was really sure his knee was down, however, a couple of plays later I would mention it to the QB.
